How to get here

The address of the building where the Conference will take place is:

The Volkskundenmuseum of the Universalmuseum Joanneum GmbH
Paulustorgasse 13a
8010 Graz

Graz has an international airport. There are up to four connections a day from Munich, Frankfurt and Vienna and also not so frequent connections from Hamburg, Stuttgart, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Zürich. If you choose to fly via Vienna, some airlines (e.g. Star alliance Airlines) offer sometimes a train ticket on a very low fee from Vienna airport to Graz Central Station, BUT you have to choose as final destination for Your flight not Vienna but Graz Hauptbahnhof (GGZ). Just try it as an option.

The one way ticket price for the train from the Vienna airport directly to Graz can be as low as 10€. There are 5 direct trains from Vienna airport to Graz central station.

Flixbus (https://www.flixbus.at/) has also frequent direct connections from Vienna airport to Graz. Flixbus offers lots of direct connections to Graz from European countries.

Graz has a good public transport (tramway, busses). An hour ticket costs € 2.70, 24-hour ticket €5.80 and the 7-day ticket 16.70, for the zone 1, which includes the whole city inclusive the connection to the airport (https://www.holding-graz.at/en/mobility/our-lines/). You can use with a ticket all bus lines and tramway operating in Graz (all companies) and it is possible to change buses as often as you like within the period of validity of the ticket. Tickets can be purchased in the tramways and some of the buses (not all companies sell tickets in the bus!) or with an app (https://www.holding-graz.at/en/company/our-apps/ ). At busy places like the railway stations or large tram and bus station there are ticket machines. A stripe card (10x) is offered at some ticket offices, so called Trafiken (tobbaconist´s shops, they sell in Austria beside tobacco newspapers, magazines, stamps, ... as well as stripe cards for the public transport).

Accommodation

Accommodation costs are not included in the fee for participation in Isotope Workshops.
As Graz is a touristic city, you may reserve in time, starting with 2022, by using websites as booking.com, checkfelix, etc.
